Missing one of our favorites, Just Hooked, which was in Fenwick Island, we went to one of it's sister restaurants in OC, Hooked. We hoped to get the calamari that we loved so much at Just Hooked but we happened to hit at happy hour and couldn't resist saving a bit of money and ordering off the happy hour menu. we got the Boom Boom Shrimp app which was very good. It's served with a great spicy mayo. We then just got 2 other apps for our dinner. The Crab bisque was overly Old Bay seasoned in my opinion but to be fair, I eat low sodium. The fish tacos were OK. The battered fish was very good but overall they were just OK. They needed something, a good sauce, or a good, spicy pico, something. The "hooked" restaurants are good overall so I'm sure we'll be back.

We were up in Rehobeth and wanted to try something new. We came across Poke Bros. They have a variety of bowls and you can "make your own" bowl. We made our own. Lots of options and all of the veggies are included in the base price. The protein is an upcharge but not out of line. I got a bunch of veggies, tofu and salmon (raw) with some wasabi creme sauce. It was very good. A good portion and very tasty. My wife got a very similar bowl to mine but no protein and a different sauce. Also very good. We'll be back to this place when in Rehobeth.

I heard a lot of talk about how good this place was on NextDoor so we were out on 113 and gave it a try. We have to agree, it was very good. I got the Rockfish special. It included a good sized piece of fish and 2 sided (I got the green beans and the baked potato). The fish was fresh and tasted great. The green beans looks sad and shriveled but the taste was very good. They do have a bit of a kick (black pepper kick I think) and I like a bit of spice. My wife got the hamburger and home made chips. The hamburger was large and cooked well and tasted great. The chips were also great. If you are looking for a place off the beaten path or in the opposite direction of the beach traffic, go here.

So we went down to OC to find that another one of our favorite places closed, Shotti's Point Cafe on the boardwalk. We ended up trying Papi's for mexican food. I got the Baja burrito bowl with the refried black beans. The refried black beans were different than other refried beans I've had and were very good. My meal was good, a little bland for mexican food in my opinion but with some hot sauce I really enjoyed it. My wife got the Mission Style Burrito. She thought it was OK, also thought it was bland but she isn't much of a hot sauce girl. I'd go again and definitely get the refired black beans (refritos).
